External Clock Details for Siglent Spectrum Analyzers (SSA3X, SSA3X Plus, SVA1X, and SSA3X-R Series)
March 25, 2021
1-5Vp, 10MHz +/- 100 ppm (Sine preferred) This indicates that the external clock can be “off” from 10 MHz by +/- 100 ppm. All frequency measurements are scaled according to the clock. If the clock is not 10 MHz, then the frequencies indicated on the instrument will also be off.

How do I directly control an instrument using LAN?
February 16, 2021
For convenience, we recommend connecting your instrument to your LAN using a router that can configure DHCP directly and use an internet switch to connect the LAN to the instruments you wish to control. In some cases, you may wish to directly connect your computer to an instrument LAN port without a LAN available. This … Continued

Updated Frequency Uncertainty Calculations (SSA, SSA Plus, SVA)
August 26, 2020
Currently listed datasheet calculation for SSA Frequency Uncertainty is being updated, but as of 08/26/2020, it has not. Here is the new calculation: We can use below new specification: ± (frequency indication × frequency reference uncertainty + 1/2(span/(sweep points-1)) + 10% × resolution bandwidth + marker resolution) For example: The frequency indication is 500 … Continued
Where is the MAC address information for SSA3000X, SSA3000X Plus, SSA3000X-R, and SVA1000X?
May 21, 2020
The MAC address can be found on the LAN config interface. Path: System–interface–LAN.
How to view multiple traces without all of them using the QuasiPeak Detector setting
March 19, 2020
The SIGLENT SSA3000X, SSA3000X Plus, and SVA1000X products all have an EMI option that adds a Quasi- Peak detector selection. The Quasi Peak detector is an integrating detector type that will automatically apply to all active traces on the analyzer. To prevent existing traces from being overwritten with the Quasi Peak detector data, please follow … Continued
Which values do I enter for antenna correction factors on my spectrum analyzer?
December 27, 2019
If you have an antenna with calibration data, chances are it includes a number of columns of data. One column should be the frequency being tested. The others can include free-range performance, gain, and more. For reference, Antenna Factor (or correction factor) is defined as the ratio of the incident Electromagnetic Field to the output voltage … Continued
